Hope Team

This team is made up of different educators that teach and provide support in the school setting. For instance, multiple primary teachers, principal, special education teacher, psychologist, nurse, MTSS teachers, and social worker. Students are typically referred to this team by the classroom teacher based on the student’s performance in the classroom. The team will have the initial meeting to discuss areas of concern and look for additional interventions and create specific goals to try and address the identified needs. The HOPE Team will implement and monitor these targeted interventions and collect data on your child’s performance for a minimum of 30 days. Following this 30-day period, the team will reunite to review the success of the interventions. This team also addresses gifted referrals; which would be submitted by the student’s classroom teacher based on performance.

Individual Sessions

There are a variety of reasons that I may meet with a student these could include but are not limited to: crisis situations, situations that occur at school, teacher referral, parent referral, skill-based sessions, assist the student to work through different emotions, conflict resolution, or to address needed items. Please note that school counseling services are not therapy based services. If your child needs long-term services or is struggling outside of school, outside services may be beneficial. If you need resources for outside counseling services, please contact me by email or phone.

Student Leadership Team (SLT)

This group is made up of 3rd and 4th grade students who are referred by their classroom teacher who demonstrate leadership qualities. These students assist with a variety of activities throughout the year: Red Ribbon Week, Kindness Week, Food Drive, etc. Students will fill out and return their applications by the deadline to start SLT duties.
