Professional Experience

Current Position

This will be my 2nd year as the Principal of Belle Plaine Elementary School!

Previous Position

I began teaching elementary school in 1998 at Elm Tree Elementary in Bentonville, Arkansas at a year round school. I taught 5th grade science for 2 years, 4th grade for 6 years, and P.E. for a semester. I also taught  1st grade in for a semester at Pleasanton Elementary School in Pleasanton, Texas. For the last 16 years I have been in my home town of Mulvane, Kansas at Mulvane Middle School. There I taught 6th grade math and ELA for 15 years, and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade FACS for 1 year.

Family Information

My fiance and I have been together for 14 years. My son, Baine, is a Debate and Forensics teacher at Goddard Eisenhower High School. My daughter Bailey, currently works in the medical field and is getting ready to start cosmetology school in Wichita.. Of course I can’t forget our two dogs Bentley and Indi who go with us just about everywhere.

Personal Information

I enjoy being at work and I love spending time with my family. In my spare time I love to bake, watch movies and college basketball and football, read mysteries, to fish, sew and craft, and walk with the dogs at the park. And I love decorating for fall and Christmas!
