About Me

Educational History:

  • I graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont, KS.
  • I then attended Labette Community College for my Associates degree.
  • In 2004, I attended Pitt State University in Pittsburg, KS. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in 2006.

Current Position:

  • I started teaching 3rd grade at Belle Plaine Elementary in 2014.
  • The 2019-2020 school year will be my 8th year of teaching.

Previous Position:

  • I previously taught 6th grade in Galesburg, KS. I taught there for two years. I loved teaching 6th grade, and I am still in contact with many of my previous students. It has been great connecting with them as they graduated college, start a career, get married, and/or start a family,

Family Information:

  • I married my husband, Chris, in 2006.
  • We have a son named Caleb, who also attends Belle Plaine Middle School. He is in 5th grade this year.
  • We moved to the Belle Plaine area in 2013 because my husband received a job offer in Wichita. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made. We love it here!

Personal Information:

  • My favorite hobby is being with my family. I enjoy our time together above all other things. We like to visit arcades, watch movies, go on road trips, and play baseball/football in our front yard.
  • When I get time just for me, I like to watch sunsets, listen to music, and paint. I also enjoy trying out new restaurants and finding new antique shops.
  • I enjoy teaching very much. I knew at a young age that I would chose a career that worked with children. I always wanted to somehow feel as if I could impact the world in a positive way. I now feel I do that through teaching. I love my students, and each year is unique!
